MANILA -- Karylle believes that work would help her mother Zsa Zsa Padilla move on from her breakup with fiance, architect Conrad Onglao.

Padilla is one of the stars of the primetime series "The Story Of Us" starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Karylle also appealed to the public to give her mother time to heal.

"The engagement has been called off so ako na lang ang magsasabi noon para hindi na din masakit siguro. Kasi ang hirap naman kung manggagaling pa kay mama. Ang nire-request ko lang kung pwede I ask for prayers and also just time to heal for her. Siyempre Mother's Day naman ngayon at birthday pa niya, so please," Karylle said.

Karylle admitted that she feels sad for her mother.

"Siyempre kapag may malungkot na balita naman talaga eh hindi ako plastik para sabihing 'di ako nalulungkot, totoo naman nalulungkot ako. I'm just thankful dahil ngayong araw na ito ay ang dami kong na-receive na support, messages, consoling para sa mama ko. So thank you," Karylle said.
