Ray Parks Jr.'s double-double production went to waste, as Mandaluyong El Tigre lost to the Muntinlupa Cagers 86-74 in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday.

Allan Mangahas tallied 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead Muntinlupa, overcoming Parks' 21 points and 10 rebounds.

El Tigre started in front then relinquished the lead in the second quarter when the Cagers, losing finalists in the inaugural Rajah Cup tournament, outscored the league first-timers 26-10 to take a 46-36 lead at halftime.

It didn't help Mandaluyong's cause that Parks was in foul trouble early.

He was called for his second foul before the first quarter ended, then his third as halftime approached.

Parks said he felt the referees were singling him out.

"First time I’ve seen in my life, 4 offensive fouls," Parks said.

"I mean, I attended the orientation. I know what a foul is, I know what offensive is. They don’t want me being here."

Mandaluyong knocked at the door on a number of occasions but Muntinlupa, which led by as many as 15 points, appeared more determined to thwart Parks and his crew.

Chito Jaime contributed 17 points, while Felix Apreku tallied 10 points and 16 rebounds for Muntinlupa.
