The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League introduced Makati as its sixth expansion team and its 16th overall after officials of both sides signed contracts on Tuesday night.

Team owners Paolo Orbeta and Paolo Pineda, and team manager Martin Arenas represented Makati during the signing, which was attended by MPBL commissioner Kenneth Duremdes, assistant commissioner Satar Macantal and operations head Zaldy Realubit.

Cholo Villanueva, a De La Salle University Green Archers alumnus and coaching protégé of Franz Pumaren, has been named Makati's head coach.

The team has scheduled tryouts at the Barangay San Isidro and the Makati Sports Complex from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
