MANILA - The father of missing 17-year-old Ica Policarpio on Saturday called on the public to help locate his youngest child, who was last seen in a coffee shop in Sucat, Muntinlupa City Thursday night.

"Nananawagan ho kami sa bayan, everybody nationwide na kung meron ho kayong sighting or information, or encounters where you identified our daughter Ica, pakibalita at paki-report lang po sa pinakamalapit na police station or even sa DZMM or any news organization because every bit of news or information will really help us. Iyon lang po ang pakiusap namin, wala po kaming any solid lead or balita anything that we can make a conclusion," lawyer Rufino Policarpio told radio DZMM.

Policarpio described his daughter as a "smart girl" who likes to read.

"Ica is very intelligent, she’s a smart girl. She’s 17 years old, Grade 12, graduating. And she’s an honor student consistently from her grade school days. She’s a lover of books. She likes to read, to write. Matiyaga siyang tao. She likes to study and she’s very good in whatever she does. She likes math," he said.

"She’s not the type who will just be irresponsible. So we’re really worried."

Policarpio said his family did not receive any threats prior to his daughter's disappearance.

"Wala kaming nare-receive any form of threat, we’re a very private family and that is a usual thing for us . . . We usually have coffee at night there while they’re also doing their homework. Di naman first time nangyari iyon, we’re really just very surprised na that particular night, wala siya doon," he said.

"Ang house ho namin is just a few blocks away. In fact, it’s really walking distance kaya lang may area doon na usually not lighted," he added.

He added that the family has seen all CCTV footages in the area where Ica went missing but has yet to find a lead on her location.

"All of the establishments, I think, have already cooperated. Hindi pa rin ho maliwanag kung ano ang nangyari, nakita lang siya doon pero when she moved to the place where wala na talagang CCTV, we cannot really gain anything anymore," he said.

"But noong nasa area na siya na iyon, it was clear that she was there and wala naman siyang kasama or nakasunod sa kanya but then we don’t know pagdating dun sa dark areas kung saan siya nagtungo."

Ica was wearing semi-rounded glasses, a blue sweater with white stripes on the sleeves, black jeans, white sneakers and a light- colored beanie when she was last seen.
