MANILA - A crime watchdog slammed the country's "slow and rotten" justice system anew after a person of interest in the San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan massacre was killed.

Jimenez made the statement after the body of alias "Inggo," one of the alleged cohorts of suspect Carmelino Ibañez, was found dead yesterday in Barangay Sto. Cristo.

"Wake-up call dapat ito sa judicial system natin. Kami experience namin sa mga massacre 5 years, 10 years [inaabot ang kaso]," added Jimenez, whose group closely monitors the case in Bulacan.

The body of Inggo sustained stab wounds. There were marks of torture on his body and he was strangled with a pump belt. A sign that read "Addict at Rapist ako Huwag Tularan" was left on the body.

Ibañez already surrendered to the police, while one of his alleged cohorts, alias Tony, who previously surfaced to the authorities is now missing.

Jimenez said police should investigate the killing of Inggo to make sure the one killed is not just a fall guy. He also demanded a full background check of all persons of interest in the massacre case.
