Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte and her younger brother, Sebastian, ran into each other at the Cebu airport while waiting for their departing flights Thursday afternoon.

The two Duterte siblings shared laughs about the heightened attention they are now receiving as members of the First Family.

The mayor thanked those who congratulated her father, President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, for his victory. She refused to grant an interview.

The mayor was accompanied by friends during her trip to Cebu. It was not immediately known where she will be flying next.

Sebastian Duterte took a flight back to Davao Thursday.

Inday Sara caught nationwide attention last year when she shaved her head to show her support for her father's presidential bid.

She and her mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman, also embarked on a bus tour to drum up support for Duterte's candidacy.

The Duterte family visited Cebu on Wednesday for a victory party with his supporters.

Duterte, whose first marriage has been annulled, said during the campaign that he wanted Sara to be his First Lady. Sara, however, is not keen on assuming the largely ceremonial role.

Last month, Duterte said it may be better not to have a First Lady.

"You know, it's better not to have a first lady at all. I am separated from my first wife, I have a second wife. Just to avoid, you know you can spin a lot of [stories], weave a lot of things there. Baka wala, 'di na ako mag-first lady. Bakit mag-first lady, first lady ka pa," he told reporters.
