Whang-ud's dream comes true as she finally meets Coco Martin

You can't really blame Whang-ud, the iconic mambabatok of Kalinga, if she has her head in the clouds at the moment, as she was flown to Manila in a helicopter to meet her idol, Coco Martin.

Whang-ud made a special trip from her home village of Buscalan to Manila, where the "Ang Probinsyano" star is based.

In photos shared by ABS-CBN News' Jeff Fernando, the world-renowned centenarian tattooist could be seen with a wide grin on her face as Martin wrapped his arm over her shoulders during their meeting.

Whang-ud was accompanied by her apo, Grace Palisca, who also shared photos of her grandmother's trip online.

It was back in February when it first came to light that she has huge celebrity crush on the Kapamilya actor.

Since then, Martin has been open to a meeting with Whang-ud, even sending a team to give her a personal gift last July.

Whang-ud has said that she she would love to inscribe a python or centipede tattoo on Martin's arm. These designs, according to literature, are given to Kalinga warriors to as a form of talisman and recognition for their courage and bravery.

Whang-ud is the last practicing traditional tattoo artist of Kalinga.

Her worldwide popularity began in 2009 when tattoo anthropologist Lars Krutak went to Buscalan and did a documentary for Discover Channel.
