MANILA -- Throughout his "indefinite leave" from showbiz to focus on personal matters, John Lloyd Cruz has largely chosen to keep mum on rumors surrounding his relationship with girlfriend Ellen Adarna.

Among those rumors are: that they secretly tied the knot, which until now has no confirmation; and that Adarna had been carrying their first child, and that the baby boy was recently born and was baptized.

In a rare move on Monday, Cruz addressed the latter as he took to Instagram to share a photo of a phone screen showing a news item, with the headline: "Ellen Adarna got her son baptized and the hospital security was extra tight."

A post shared by portal,library (@ekomsi) on

In the image's caption, Cruz tagged the online news outfit that published the report, and wrote, "F*ck fake news."

Cruz did not make clear, however, if he was pertaining to the entirety of the headline as false. There is no confirmation still whether he and Adarna has a newborn, or that it's a boy, or that the baby has been baptized.

The Star Magic talent's post came only days after his home network, ABS-CBN, similarly addressed a false rumor surrounding Cruz's opportunity to resume his work.

The Kapamilya network said there is "no truth to the reports that John Lloyd Cruz approached ABS-CBN to request that he return to work, and that the network turned him down."

The statement added: "ABS-CBN’s doors are always open to John Lloyd, and he will always be a Kapamilya."
