MANILA – Juliana Gomez, the only daughter of celebrity couple Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres, finally set the records straight about her closeness with former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Marco Gallo.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News’ Jeff Fernando, Gomez clarified that she and Gallo are only friends and she doesn’t mind getting romantically linked to him.

“It’s fine with me because I know him well. He’s a really good friend of mine and I am grateful that I have a friend like him,” she said.

When asked if they are dating, Gomez said: “No, we are not dating. My family knows him well. My parents think he’s a very good influence but right now, we both have priorities and dating is not one of them.”

She also explained why they were together at her school prom two months ago.

“I took him to prom because he’s a guy friend of mine that I’m most comfortable with,” she said.

Is it true that her father prohibited Gallo from courting her?

“Hindi po kasi hindi naman po nanligaw si Marco in the first place. We are really just friends,” she said.

In an interview with Push last month, Gallo also stressed that he and Gomez are only friends, saying that he has no plans of courting her just yet.

"Iyong naisip ng mga tao, nagkamali sila na akala nila na kami na. Pero sobrang close lang kami and I am so happy and so proud. Thank you, Lord, na nakilala ko siya, na kaibigan ko siya," he said.

"Sa ngayon, hindi pa po [ako manliligaw] kasi di ba, sabi nila if in case in the future you want a steady and promising relationship, you have to build up a friendship first... So I am building a friendship with her. Let's see how it goes."
