Last Tuesday, Choi was found unconscious while performing his mandatory military service as a policeman. He was suspected to have overdosed on enzodiazepine, a prescribed tranquilizer used to fight anxiety, among other conditions.

Prior to his hospitalization, Choi was indicted for marijuana use. He initially denied smoking marijuana, which is illegal in South Korea, but later on admitted to doing so after his drug tests came back positive.
