T.O.P of the Korean boy group Big Bang remains unconscious, according to doctors, who spoke to the press following mixed reports about the singer's condition.

A report on The Korea Herald said doctors held a press conference on Wednesday, and that Choi Seung-hyun is likely to recover in a week.

They added that Choi was in a state of "stupor and deep drowsiness and only responded to very strong stimulations" when he was brought to the hospital.

The doctors also said Choi's urine test showed he took benzodiazepine, a prescribed tranquilizer used to fight anxiety, but he took too much of the medicine.

The doctors' clarification came after conflicting reports on the 29-year-old rapper's condition. Reports quoting the police said Choi was only in deep sleep and is not in critical condition.

Choi's mother, however, later released a statement contradicting the police, asking them to stop misinforming the public.

Choi was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after he was found unconscious due to drug overdose.
