MANILA - Vilma Santos and Angel Locsin's first team-up film was graded "A" by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), producer Star Cinema announced on Instagram Tuesday.

This means that "Everything About Her," the production outfit's first film of the year, is qualified for a 100-percent tax rebate.

In the comedy-drama, Santos plays a strict and successful CEO, who suddenly learns that she is suffering from cancer. She then tasks her nurse (Locsin) to convince her son, Albert (Xian Lim), to come home from the US and live with her once more.

The film earlier drew headlines after critics panned the casting of Lim, whom some observers claimed did not deserve to topbill a film alongside Santos and Locsin.

Both Santos and Locsin have since come to the defense of Lim, with the actress-turned-politician saying: "Lahat ng artista dumaan sa ganitong stage. Ang pinakahinahangaan ko lang, because he's very willing to learn."

For his part, Lim expressed his gratitude towards his co-stars. In an interview on "Tonight with Boy Abunda," he bared the biggest lesson he learned from working with Santos.

"Sabi niya, 'Xian, lahat iyan tayo ang tinitingala, tayo ang sikat. Pero take time to appreciate those people na nagdadala ng bag natin, lahat ng mga tao na nagdadala ng ilaw sa mga set para sumikat ka. So you love those people because you owe it to them."

Helmed by director Joyce Bernal, "Everything About Her" is set to be released in theaters nationwide on January 27.
