MANILA - Power distributor Manila Electric Co was the top choice of jobseekers when asked which company they aspire to work for, according to results of a Jobstreet.com survey released Wednesday.

Meralco was new to the top 10 this year, dislodging last year's first-placer, San Miguel Corp. Google Philippines moved up to third from eighth while ABS-CBN Corp advanced to eighth from 10th last year.

The job recruitment website polled 3,658 junior executives and fresh graduates for the fourth edition of its annual ranking.

This year, job security was the top criteria for choosing the company that employees aspire to work for, compared to last year, wherein respondents singled out basic pay, Jobstreet.com said in a statement

"These choices indicate that professional Filipinos are interested in the long-term gains, as factors that directly affect their personal lives such as career growth offerings and promotion, and career-enhancing training and development opportunities," according to the statement.

A strong leadership team that can mentor employees was also among top 5 considerations, it said.
