MANILA - A new ride-hailing company for taxis, MiCab, will not have booking fees, price surges, or trip cancellations, its co-founder said Monday.

There will be no charge on top of the taxi fare because MiCab earns from ads shown on tablets that are installed in the vehicles, said its founder, Eddie Ybañez.

"Basically, what we're trying to do is offer a solution with sustainability in mind that's why we're focused on advertising, not putting anything as booking fee or surge pricing. In whatever time, fare actually stays the same or depends on traffic," he told ANC's Early Edition.

Micab is one of 5 transport network vehicle companies accredited by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to service Metro Manila following Grab's takeover of Uber.
