The Metro Manila Development Authority said Tuesday that it will ask the transportation department for guidelines on which buses from Southern Luzon are required to use the new integrated terminal in Parañque.

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is supposed to be the last stop of some Metro-bound provincial buses from Cavite and Batangas, which are banned on EDSA. From the terminal, commuters can take other transport systems like city buses, taxis and UV Express vans.

The Department of Transportation, however, has yet to release a memorandum, which the MMDA needs to apprehend erring buses, said MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia.

"Magpapadala po ako sa kanila ng letter. Hihingi po kami ng guidelines para sa kung ano po talaga ang dadaan d'yan or hindi dahil kami naman, enforcement lang," he told radio DZMM.

"One hundred percent na sumusuporta kami d'yan sa PITX, lilinawin lang namin kung ano ang guidelines," he added.

(I'll write to them, we'll ask for guidelines on what buses are required to pass through the terminal because we are only in charge of the enforcement. We support the PITX a hundred percent, but we'll just clarify the guidelines.)

The PITX has an electronic ticketing system, a shower area, and free WiFi. It will also connect to the LRT-1 Extension to Bacoor, Cavite.
