Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo on Monday spoke before members of the press, where she revealed that some 200,000 victims of supertyphoon “Yolanda” from Regions 6 and 8 did not receive assistance from the government.

Taguiwalo said they have reported these irregularities to President Rodrigo Duterte, as his marching order for his cabinet is service without corruption.

She noted, this is the reason why during the height of the recent typhoon 'Lawin', they reminded their agencies that "emergency shelter assistance should be emergency--not three years, not two years after."

"We are doing our best to make sure that the Yolanda experience in terms of delayed provision of emergency shelter assistance should not be repeated," she said.
