Muling umapela ang 3 jeepney groups ngayong Miyerkoles na makabalik sila sa pamamasada kasunod ng pagluluwag ng coronavirus lockdown sa Maynila.

Iilang driver pa lang umano ang nakatanggap ng cash aid mula sa gobyerno kaya napilitan ang ilan na mamalimos na, ani Alliance of Concerned Transport Organizations (ACTO) president Efren De Luna.

Sinang-ayunan ito ni Zeny Maranan, president of the Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines, at Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) secretary general Steve Ranjo.

"Hanggang ngayon ay wala pa tayong natanggap. Bilang katunayan po niyan ay halos karamihan na sa amin ay namamalimos. Kailangan bigyan na kami ng pagkakataon na kami po'y makapamasada na," ani De Luna.

"Kung saka-sakaling papayagan kami, makakasiguro naman ang ating mga kababayan na susunod kami sa social distancing na sinasabi nila," dagdag ni Maranan.

Hindi rin aniya magtataas ng pamasahe ang mga jeepney.

Batay sa ulat ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Kongreso nitong Lunes, nakapagbigay na ng cash aid ang pamahalaan sa nasa 98,100 na ride-hailing at public utility drivers sa Metro Manila. Hindi nakasaad sa ulat kung ilan dito ang driver ng jeepney.
