MANILA - The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) Awards and Junior Chamber International Philippines (JCIP) held Thursday a stakeholders meeting at the Marco Polo Ortigas in Pasig City.

Senior Insp. Ligaya Lomuntad Sim-Cabal recalled being relieved from her position before becoming a TOYM awardee in 1999.

Former TOYM awardees like film director Carlos Siguion-Reyna, Atty. Maria Anthonette C. Velasco-Allones, and Florencio Tam Mongoso, Jr. also shared their life stories.

Meanwhile, Atty. Paolo Carlo Lim, TOYM National Director for Media Relations, said they hope to inspire more individuals through TOYM Awards.

"What we are trying to do here is naghahanap kami ng different stories that would inspire normal individuals like us to be better, to contribute to the society, to the betterment of our nation," he said.

"The award is given to every Filipino between the ages of 18-40 years old. These young individuals are just normal individuals like us but has done something extraordinary in their lives towards nation-building, and those are the people we are looking for in TOYM."
