MANILA — Matteo Guidicelli is aware of the fresh round of rumors about his supposed engagement with Sarah Geronimo, drawn from recent sightings of the pop star sporting what appears to be a new ring.

Guidicelli, 28, was asked about his relationship with Geronimo, 30, after his Friday contract-signing with Viva Artists Agency, which is also the long-time management team of the “Kilometro” hitmaker.

“We’ve been together for several years, and the relationship has matured, and I think it’s still maturing,” he said in response to being quizzed about their future plans. “It’s not yet perfect, and it’s never going to be perfect. But we’ve been learning so much from each other.”

“Sarah has grown to be a really strong independent woman. She is continuing to do that,” he added.

Guidicelli, who was for eight years part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, explained that Geronimo one of the determining factors behind his switch to Viva.

“That’s why we’re in the same management, para hopefully in the future, we could be more efficient together and really do something cool together,” he said.

Asked whether “settling down” with Geronimo is coming anytime soon, Guidicelli answered: “Hopefully. That’s the long-term, dream goal. One day, we’ll see.”

As for the ring that Geronimo has been seen wearing, Guidicelli denied that it came from him, and quipped, “It’s too small!”
