Pacific's top seed Xipto Esports started its 2024 Valorant Game Changers Championship campaign with a nail-biting series win against North American squad Flyquest Red, 2-1.

The Southeast Asian squad composed of the Filipina trio of Alexy "Alexy" Francisco, Kelly "shirazi" Jaudian, and Camille "Kamiyu" Enriquez, and fellow ex-Team SMG teammates Odella "enerii" Abraham and Ryona "Tara" Shannen Tan fought a close matchup until the end after both teams took convincing wins in their respective map picks and then taking the decider map to double-overtime.

In the returning competitive map Pearl, Xipto dominated Flyquest, despite the latter winning both pistol rounds and a bonus, by winning nine straight rounds in the first half and only allowed their opponents to one of the pistol rounds in the second half before taking the rest of the match at 13-4.

Sunset was initially a close affair as the first half ended at 6-6. Xipto started the second half winning the pistol round and bonus, but Flyquest retaliated with their own seven round streak to tie up the series at 13-8.

In the decider, Split started with an initial split as both teams took six rounds apiece.

Flyquest then started to distance themselves with four rounds, but Xipto responded with five of their own to overtake them to match point.

Not to be written off, Flyquest took two rounds off Xipto to bring the first overtime in the tournament.

Kamiyu on Skye then broke the deadlock with four kills to end the longest series for the day at 15-13.

Alexy overall led Xipto in the stats department with 50 kills, 43 deaths, and 21 assists, while using Jett, Raze, and Sova throught the series.

With the win, Xipto will take a long break before their upper bracket semifinals on November 14, awaiting the winner between defending champion Shopify Rebellion and the EMEA region's Falcons Vega.
