MANILA, Philippines – After losing in its outing against Lyceum of the Philippines University, San Beda University has regained its winning ways.

The Red Lions bounced back in the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament, defeating the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, 57-53, on Friday at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan.

It was also the Red Lions who won in their encounter in the first round.

Yukien Andrada was on fire, listing a game-high of 21 points and was the only Red Lion in twin-digit territory, to go along with three rebounds and a steal.

"Kailangan naming bumawi, 'yun lang lagi kong inuulit. Matalo kami, kailangan naming bumawi," said Andrada.

"We just stayed together, sa training namin we picked each other up. And 'yon, lumabas sa laro namin," he added.

Holding a precarious four-point lead entering the final minute, 54-50, Billy Estacio sank a trey with 43.4 seconds left to further the San Beda cushion to seven.

Perpetual's Mark Gojo Cruz answered back with a trey of his own to keep his team in striking distance—and they even got a lucky break as Andrada committed an offensive foul.

Christian Pagaran got the space he needed to take a triple in the next possession but fell short on his attempt.

Gojo Cruz (14 points), Pagaran (10 points), and Jearico Nunez's (11 points) double-digit contributions for Perpetual were not enough to propel the Altas.

San Beda is now at 8-4 after the victory, while Perpetual moved down to 5-7.
