MANILA — Colegio de San Juan de Letran's woes in Round 2 of the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball keep on piling up.

Already riding a two-game losing skid with a 6-5 record, the Knights will now face their next assignment Mapua University sans young star Jimboy Estrada as he is set to face a one-game suspension due to being ejected in their last assignment against the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.

"In-appeal at nilaban namin sa [NCAA management committee], pero final na raw," a source told ABS-CBN News Wednesday morning, sharing how Letran fought for the case of the former St. Clare College star but was denied by the NCAA.

Estrada was called with a flagrant foul at the 7:50 mark of the third quarter in their game against Perpetual after Mark Gojo Cruz landed on the foot of the former. Estrada's ejection came with only 2:41 left in the contest after coming into contact with a referee.

On the second incident, he was originally only called with a technical foul. But upon review, the officials upgraded it to a disqualifying foul.

Unfortunately for the Letran ace, these calls not only resulted in a one-game suspension for Estrada — who was among the frontrunners for the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Rookie of the Year, and Mythical Selection awards — but he is also now ineligible to get these plums at the end of the season due to NCAA rules regarding player suspensions.

He is currently averaging 15.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and a block in 11 games and seven starts so far in his rookie year with the Muralla-based team.

Letran will face Mapua on Friday, 2:30 p.m., at the San Juan Arena.
