Several local football players hit Global Cebu FC for allegedly failing to fulfill its obligations.

Anton del Rosario, a former member of the national football team, complained on Facebook about non-payment of their salaries.

“When should us players expect to get paid? We haven't received salary for at least 3 months, some up to 8 months. Some guys getting close to evicted, some living on cup o noodles... it is the holidays and some players cant even fly to their families,” said Del Rosario.

“We gave nothing but RESPECT to the club, why cant we get that respect back as players???”

One of their former players, Rufino Sanchez, commiserated with his fellow teammates.

The Spaniard, who left the team back in May, said he has yet to get his unpaid wages.

“Goodluck bro, even me are waiting still for salaries!!! And a lot of players, i cant understand why PFF still let this kind of teams sign more players and keep playing doing that,” he said in his Facebook comment.

The club has been undergoing financial difficulties since Azkals team manager Dan Palami relinquished team ownership.

The problem became so serious that they were forced to cancel some of their away-games for failure to fund their inter-island travel in the Philippine Football League.
