SANTA ROSA, Laguna--Bobby Ray Parks Jr. is relieved that the 2018 PBA rookie draft is finished.

Now he wants to know where he is going to play after reports surfaced that Blackwater, which picked him, will send him to Meralco as part of a 3-team trade.

“Araw-araw akong tinatanong kung kelan ako magpapa-draft. Sa wakas na draft na ko,” Parks said after helping San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas secure an 86-72 victory over the Formosa Dreamers on Friday night to remain perfect (3-0) in the ASEAN Basketball League.

“I’m happy to start the next chapter of my life, pero gusto ko ring malaman kung saan pupunta.”

The trade reportedly involves Meralco playmaker Baser Amer, who will be sent to the TNT, while Jericho Cruz and Brian Heruela will be shipped to Blackwater.

But Parks said he has yet to hear from the teams involved in the deal.

“No one has reached out personally to me yet,” he said. “Si boss Charlie (Dy) ang nakakaalam.”

Dy, who acts as Parks’ manager, said he too remains clueless.

Dy said he received word from Blackwater manager Joel Co an offer to Parks.

“When I received the email, it was a 2-year contract. So nagulat ako. Sabi ko wala pa namang negotiation, ba’t may contract,” he said.

Blackwater eventually furnished them the contract on Thursday.

“Sinign ko ‘yung tendered offer. Pero wala kaming alam (sa trade). Ang daming nagtatanong,” said Dy. “Pero based on my experience, laging higher management ang nag-uusap.”

Parks said he’d prefer to focus on the task at hand, which is to play for Alab Pilipinas until the end of the current ABL season.

“As of now, I’m just focused on Alab. I appreciate Blackwater for drafting me,” the two-time ABL MVP said.
