The Philippines' Margielyn Didal adds a 2019 SEA Games gold medal to the Asian Games championship she won last year. George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News

Margielyn Didal won the gold in women's game of skate in Southeast Asian Games skateboarding on Thursday, securing a 1-2 finish for the Philippines.

Christiana Means took the silver in a sport in which a competitor performs a trick and the opponent tries to execute the same routine.

Every time players fail to duplicate a trick, they are sequentially designated a letter in the word "skate." The first to complete the word — or miss an execution five times — loses.

Daniel Ledermann, a US-raised Filipino skateboarder like Means, finished first on the men's side after he beat a 12-year-old from Indonesia.

To advance to the final, Didal and Means defeated their Indonesian opponents on Wednesday.

In the meantime, Didal goes for a second gold medal when she competes in the street event at Tagaytay City Extreme Sports Complex on Saturday, while Means competes in street and park with an eye on her first gold.
