MANILA, Philippines—After being released from her contract with Pocari Sweat, ace spiker Myla Pablo is now headed to Motolite, sources confirmed to ABS-CBN News.

Sources with knowledge of the situation said Motolite and Pocari discussed Pablo's contract on Friday afternoon, with Motolite agreeing to take on the remaining three years of Pablo's contract.

Pablo had signed a lucrative five-year deal with Pocari Sweat back in November 2016.

Tiebreaker Times first reported the development.

Pablo, a two-time Most Valuable Player in the Premier Volleyball League, was choosing between Cocolife and Motolite, according to sources. However, Pocari Sweat ultimately decided to agree to terms with Motolite.

"Okay naman ang usapan ng Motolite at Pocari," the source said.

Pocari Sweat management informed Pablo of her new team around 5 p.m. Friday, sources said.

Pablo was the face of the Pocari franchise ever since it moved to the PVL, and she helped the team win three titles: the 2016 Open and Reinforced crowns, and the 2017 Reinforced Conference title. She was the finals MVP when Pocari ruled the 2016 Open and the 2017 Reinforced conferences.

However, they have struggled this year, placing fourth in the Reinforced Conference and falling short of the semifinals in the Open.

Sources close to the former National University star said Pablo's camp had intently listened to offers not just from Motolite and Cocolife, but also from teams in the Philippine Superliga including Foton.

"Nire-respeto nila ang mga team na kumukuha (kay Myla)," the source said.

According to the same source, Pablo is saddened to leave Pocari Sweat, whom she has played for the last five years. Pablo also expressed her gratitude to the team and to her teammates, especially those from Air Force whom she considered her family, said the source.
