MANILA, Philippines – There is indeed no rest for the weary as ONE world heavyweight champion Brandon Vera will get just a day's break following his first title defense before returning to action – this time in a movie set.

Vera will defend his heavyweight belt for the first time against tough Japanese challenger Hideki Sekine on December 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena. "The Truth" has split his training camp between Manila and San Diego, and promised to show up to his fight in fantastic shape.

"The coaches say I'm in the best shape (of my life)," Vera said on Tuesday in a press conference at Vikings.

Yet he has no intentions of letting up even with just two days to go before he steps inside the cage again.

"Kahit ngayon, iniisip ko pa na I didn't do enough," he said. "After we leave, I'm gonna do sprints. I'm still training. Hindi pa tapos 'yung trabaho namin."

And his work will not end even after his bout on Friday. Vera revealed that he will begin shooting for the movie "Buy Bust" just two days after the fight.

"You don't rest here in the Philippines," he said. "Trabaho talaga."

"Laban ko, December 2. Ang beginning ng shooting ng 'Buy Bust,' December 4," he said. "Kahit bugbog ang mukha ko, may shooting pa rin."

Vera stars opposite Anne Curtis in the action film directed by Erik Matti. In an interview last June, Vera expressed his excitement for the new challenge.

"It's my first project. I get to co-star in an amazing movie, and come on, the lead is Anne Curtis," Vera said at the time. "Mahirap, pero kaya ko."
