Pinoy water-polo team beats Thailand for first win in 2019 SEA Games

The Philippines downed Thailand 7-4 to secure its first victory in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games on Thursday.

After drawing 2017 SEA Games runner-up Indonesia on Tuesday, the host team secured precious 3 points at the Aquatics Center at New Clark City in Capas town, Tarlac.

Tied at one point after the first quarter, the Filipinos strung together three goals in the second then added two more in the third to go up 6-3 and never look back.

The Philippines and Indonesia have 5 points each on a victory (3 points) and a draw (2).

Thailand dropped to 3 points, tying defending champion Singapore, which bowed to Indonesia 7-5.

The Philippines next take on Singapore Friday at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Filipinas fell to Thailand 32-5 to fall to 0-2 slate.
