MANILA, Philippines -- Krizziah Tabora became the fifth Filipino to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, following a triumphant performance in Mexico over the weekend.

Tabora, seeded third after the qualifying games, defeated Colombia's Rocio Restrepo in the semifinals, 249-222.

She went on to down Malaysia's Siti Safiyah in an all-Asia final, 236-191. Bowl.com reported that Tabora had strikes in frames five to nine to build a lead against her opponent.

"I know people at home have been watching on the live streaming, and I've already got lots of notifications from friends and family," a delighted Tabora told the QubicaAMF website.

"It has been a good year for me," she added. "Our ladies team won bronze in the SEA Games, and then we got silver in the Asian Indoor Games. But this is far and away, the best."

Tabora is the fifth Filipino to win the World Cup, following Paeng Nepomuceno, Lita dela Rosa, Bong Coo, and CJ Suarez. Overall, it is the Philippines' eighth World Cup title.
