MANILA, Philippines -- San Beda University's versatile forward Calvin Oftana has earned the Most Valuable Player award for the NCAA Season 95 men's basketball tournament, capping a year that saw him blossom from role player into a bona fide star for the Red Lions.

Oftana averaged a team-high 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists for the unbeaten Red Lions, while playing nearly 25 minutes per game. He accumulated a total of 51.56 Player Average Value (PAV) for the year, leading the league.

Nelle, San Beda's sophomore point guard, tallied 45.39 PAVs after averaging 10.2 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. Canlas, his running partner, averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game for 45.33 PAVs.

Also making it to the Mythical Five is San Sebastian College's Allyn Bulanadi with 45.28 PAVs. He led the league in scoring with an average of 20.0 points per game, along with 5.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Colegio de San Juan de Letran's Fran Yu earned the Most Improved Player award. The diminutive guard jumped from 93rd to 19th in the PAV race this year.
