San Miguel Beer center June Mar Fajardo looks to raise another MVP trophy when the PBA holds its annual season-ending ceremony honoring individual excellence.

The event, known as the Leo Awards, is scheduled prior to Game 4 of the Governors' Cup finals at Araneta Coliseum on Friday.

Judging by how far and away he is from the competition based on statistics, Fajardo is favored to join Alvin Patrimonio and former Beerman Ramon Fernandez as the league's only 4-time MVP winners.

Like Patrimonio, who won all his MVPs for the Purefoods franchise, Fajardo, in his fifth year playing for the San Miguel Corp.'s flagship squad, is in position to achieve a similar feat.

If Fajardo wins, though, he'll be the first to take home that trophy in 4 consecutive seasons.

Also in the running for MVP, but considered longshots, are Fajardo's teammates, Chris Ross and Alex Cabagnot.

Those 3 are up for spots on the Mythical Team, as are Barangay Ginebra's Japeth Aguilar, Joe Devance and LA Tenorio; TNT's Jayson Castro and Kelly Williams; and Meralco's Cliff Hodge.

Ross, who forms arguably the league's most potent backcourt with Marcio Lassiter, is tipped to claim the Most Improved Player award, according to the PBA website.

For top rookie, sharpshooters and Gilas Pilipinas regulars Matthew Wright of Phoenix and RR Pogoy of TNT lead the race.
