Way before Scottie Thompson and LA Tenorio, and Jayjay Helterbrand and Mark Caguioa, the Ginebra franchise was backstopped by arguably the greatest back-court duo in PBA history -- Robert Jaworski and Francis Arnaiz.

All three generations were at the same venue in Game 2 of the PBA Governors' Cup finals on Sunday when the legendary duo watched the Barangay Ginebra-Meralco tussle live at Araneta Coliseum.

While Jaworski attends Ginebra games once in a while to boost team morale, this is reportedly Arnaiz's first time to see a PBA game live since his playing days.

Meralco can fairly claim Jaworski and Arnaiz as part of its family, too. They were on the team when the utility company participated in the defunct league known as Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association in the 1970s, the precursor to the PBA.

But Jaworski has been synonymous with Ginebra for decades now. And when Toyota disbanded after the 1983 season, Arnaiz briefly joined Jaworski at Gilbey's Gin to continue their partnership until Arnaiz migrated to the US, a team-up that stuck longer in the memories' of local basketball fans.

Gilbey's Gin would later be rebranded as Ginebra San Miguel.

With Toyota, Jaworski and Arnaiz, part of the PBA's list of 25 greatest players of all time, won 9 championships together.
