In Valenzuela, Gilas love never stops.

Despite bombing out of the 2019 FIBA World Cup, the Philippines men's national basketball team still received a massive tribute from the city.

A giant mural was painted on a wall of a half-court in Barangay Marulas, depicting some of the nationals' highlights in international competition.

The painting showed images of Gabe Norwood and Jimmy Alapag, including the monstrous poster dunk by Norwood on Argentina's Luis Scola.

The mural was a project of Valenzuela Rep. Eric Martinez, a big basketball fan who supports the city's club in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

It is one of various basketball-themed murals in the city.
