MANILA, Philippines – University of Perpetual Help guard Gab Dagangon earned NCAA Player of the Week honors for the first time in the NCAA Season 92 men's basketball tournament after flashing his leadership credentials for the Altas.

Dagangon assumed the leadership role for Perpetual Help after the graduation of former leader Scottie Thompson.

Just last week, Dagangon led the way for the Altas in dropping Arellano University, 76-62, as he scored 22 points to go along with nine rebounds and two blocks.

"I just want to help the team and try to set a good example, especially to the younger players," said Dagangon after the game.

After Nigerian teammate Bright Akhuetie, Dagangon has been the most consistent player for the Altas, and is averaging 14 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and a block per game.

Dagangon bested Emilio Aguinaldo College's Sydney Onwubere and Hamadou Laminou, and Colegio de San Juan de Letran's Rey Nambatac for the weekly honor.
