Raymar Jose was named the PBA D-League Foundation Cup Most Valuable Player for his role in leading Cignal HD to the finals.

Jose became the favorite for the MVP plum even without playing in the finals against Centro Escolar University.

He is presently with Gilas Pilipinas for its 2017 Southeast Asian Games campaign.

According to the D-League’s official website, the former FEU Tamaraw normed 12.3 points and 10.2 rebounds while towing the Hawkeyes to a second straight finals appearance.

He beat teammate Jason Perkins, Flying V’s Jeron Teng, and CEU’s JK Casiño for the award.

Jose became the third FEU Tamaraw to be named D-League MVP after Mac Belo (2016 Aspirants’ Cup) and Mike Tolomia (2016 Foundation Cup).
