MANILA, Philippines -- With Rain or Shine standing on the brink of elimination in the PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs, veteran big man Beau Belga made it clear that he is not giving up.

The Elasto Painters found themselves on the wrong end of one of the biggest comebacks in PBA history on Monday, when they squandered a 29-point lead in the second quarter and wound up losing to San Miguel, 117-105, in Game 2 of their semifinals series.

That put Rain or Shine on the brink of defeat, with the Beermen needing just one more win to advance to the best-of-7 finals.

"Talo is talo," said Belga, who 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists but played just 15 minutes due to foul trouble. "Tulad ng tawag ng referee, hindi mo na pwedeng baguhin. So ngayon, talo kami, bahala na kung ano mangyayari sa Game 3."

As disappointing as their defeat to San Miguel was, Belga sees no reason for their team to give up. He believes that they have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the Beermen. Indeed, they were the better team for the early goings of the first half when they erected a 29-point advantage.

"Nakita ko naman eh," said Belga. "Lumamang nga kami ng 29 eh. So bakit ka magi-give up?"

"Nasa mga teammate ko na lang. Ako sa sarili ko, hindi pa. Malayo pa," he stressed.

The key for Rain or Shine, said Belga, is to stick to their game plan. Both of San Miguel's wins in their best-of-5 semis series have been in come-from-behind fashion, as the Elasto Painters proved unable to hold on to their lead.

"Whatever game plan we have, okay eh. Tumatambak kami ng 29, tapos 'pag medyo nalilihis ng landas, doon kami nagkaka-loko-loko," Belga pointed out.

"So I hope, I hope, na next game, kung ano 'yung game plan, mag-stick kami sa game plan kasi okay naman eh," he added. "Sabi ko nga, the coaching staff is doing their job. It's up to the players naman ngayon, kung papaano ia-apply 'yung sinasabi ng coaching staff."

Game 3 of the best-of-5 series is on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
