MANILA -- Senator and Mahindra coach Manny Pacquiao paid his team a visit on Wednesday while the Enforcers were playing against San Miguel Beer at the PBA Governors' Cup.

It was the first time for the boxing superstar-playing coach to personally see his team play this season.

The boxing star was accompanied by his wife, Jinkee.

“Nagkataon lang na ngayon wala kaming session, so may time ako manood at suportahan ang team ko,” Pacquiao told the PBA website.

Mahindra team manager Eric Pineda earlier said that Pacquiao will be more active in his role as playing coach, especially after the sports icon has announced his retirement from boxing.

"He will still be the head coach. He has retired from boxing, so he has more time to work with the team," said Pineda shortly after Pacquiao was elected as senator. "He'll be very active sa team."

Mahindra selected Pacquiao with the 11th pick in the 2014 PBA Rookie Draft and became the team's "playing coach."

Most of the coaching duties back then, however, were delegated to his deputies due to his busy schedule as boxer-politician.

The last time he was with the Enforcers was on November 7 last year when they lost to Alaska in Dubai.

Mahindra is currently coached by Pacquiao's deputy Chris Gavina, who has steered the Enforcers to a third straight win at the expense of San Miguel.
