MANILA, Philippines -- The NLEX Road Warriors are set to follow very strict protocols when they return to practice.

Coach Yeng Guiao has said that their own guidelines are even more strict than the ones submitted by the league to the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Department of Health.

"Ang sa amin, mas mahigpit pa," he said, as quoted by the league website. "Pwede naman eh, basta ang importante lang, huwag nating babawasan 'yung standard ng PBA."

"Pwede mong dagdagan. We formulated this before pa tayo binigyan ng guidance ng PBA," he added.

The PBA's protocols, which were approved by the IATF two weeks ago, only allow six persons per training session, and bars any form of scrimmages.

Guiao guaranteed that the Road Warriors will be able to follow the protocols, especially as they have a training facility for their exclusive use.

NLEX practices at the FCL Building in Xavierville, which has its own weights room as well.

"Swerte kami sa NLEX, kasi 'yung venue namin sa FCL Building, exclusive namin," said Guiao.

The PBA Board of Governors on Saturday gave teams the green light to return to individual training, after a meeting with commissioner Willie Marcial. Marcial also met with coaches and team managers on Friday, to inform them of the specific details of the league's guidelines.

Meanwhile, player representatives of each team met with Marcial last June 23, where they expressed their unanimous desire to return to practice.

The league's activities have been stopped since March 11 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Board is hopeful that the PBA can resume its All-Filipino Cup later this year, with a final decision expected in August.
