Juneric Baloria scored 18 points, and Makati Super Crunch started strong to beat Parañaque Patriots 91-71 on Friday and remain unbeaten in the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup.

Makati's lead was at its largest at 26 points at San Andres Sports Complex -- 79-53 early in the fourth quarter -- as coach Cholo Villanueva and his crew ran away with their third straight win to start the tournament.

Rene Boy Banzali finished with 16 points to lead Parañaque (1-3).

In the first game, Jayson Varilla tallied 22 points to lead 7 Valenzuela Classic SPV TOP Marketplace players in double-digit scoring, as the northern Manila club beat Nueva Ecija MiGuard 119-116 in overtime.

Andrey Armenion drilled a triple with 8 seconds left in the game, as Nueva Ecija made it 117-116 to threaten.

But Chris De Chavez made 2 free throws in the ensuing play after Nueva Ecija was forced to foul, before Armenion missed from downtown as time expired.

In the third game, former ASEAN Basketball League champion Paolo Javelona scored 20 points and dished out 8 assists, and Bacolod Master's Sardines jumped the gun on Muntinlupa Cagers in overtime to win 98-86.

Bacolod climbed to 2-2 in the South standings, and dealt Muntinlupa its 4th straight loss to the start the tournament.
