MANILA, Philippines – After missing out on the Final 4 in Season 92, the Jose Rizal University (JRU) Heavy Bombers are determined to get back on track, with Tey-Tey Teodoro leading the way.

Season 92 record: 9-9

Season 92 summary: JRU was expected to contend for a Final 4 spot in Season 92, as they featured a high-scoring backcourt in Teodoro and the veteran Paolo Pontejos.

However, the Heavy Bombers got off to a poor start, winning only two of their first five games. A four-game winning streak to open the second round bolstered their Final 4 campaign, but the Bombers ended the elimination round with three straight losses that doomed their chances.

Projection: The Heavy Bombers are a confident bunch heading into the NCAA Season 93 men's basketball tournament. They were impressive in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Tournament, making it to the semifinals for the first time before losing to eventual champions San Beda College.

They unfortunately lost promising guard Darius Estrella to an ACL injury just before the season started, but the team is still in relatively high spirits.

The primary reason for their confidence is Teodoro, who is ready to take his place as one of the NCAA's premier guards. Teodoro is JRU's No. 1 option on offense, and when crunch time comes, the ball will always be in his hands. Vergel Meneses has made it clear that Teodoro is his main man, and the stocky guard has shown that he is up to the task.

Meneses also stressed that he expects JRU to play at a high level in Season 93, with a Final 4 spot as their primary goal. However, in order to do so, the Heavy Bombers cannot afford the same bad start that wound up dooming them last season.
