MANILA, Philippines – The last two teams standing in the 2018 Milcu Sports Basketball both hail from Intramuros.

Neighboring schools Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Lyceum of the Philippines University have set up a title showdown following well-earned victories over separate opponents last Tuesday at the Trinity University Gym in Quezon City.

The top-seeded Knights leaned on the hot shooting of swingman Allen Mina to take down De La Salle University, 62-60.

Mina scored all of his 15 points on three-pointers, while adding three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Big men CP Pamulaklakin and Daryl Pascual also found their mark from beyond the arc, as Letran’s outside shooting proved to be the difference in the close contest.

Taane Samuel had a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double while Andrei Caracut contributed 12 markers for the Green Archers, who bowed out of the tournament after an impressive 5-3 record in the elimination round.

Meanwhile, four players scored in double-digits for the Pirates in their 64-54 victory over the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws.

CJ Perez had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Jaycee Marcelino also fired 12 points on top of nine boards, four assists, and three steals.

MJ Ayaay and Jayvee Marcelino combined for 23 points as Lyceum started on a strong note and finished even stronger.

For the Tamaraws, Jack Gloria showed the way with 16 points. They finished with a 5-3 performance in the eliminations.

The Battle of Intramuros tips off on Thursday morning, still at the Trinity University Gym.
