Manny Pacquiao is nearing peak form and is focused on dethroning Argentine Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur on July 15.

The eight-division world champion sparred for 10 rounds on Thursday afternoon and is prepared to go the full 12 next week.

Feeling relaxed and happy during his training at Wild Card Gym in General Santos City Friday afternoon, Pacquiao said to no one in particular: It’s good to be back.

Pacquiao is returning to the ring after a year of inactivity brought about by his loss to Australian Jeff Horn in Brisbane.

According to lead trainer Buboy Fernandez, Pacquiao is a little over 80% in shape, 23 days before the fight at Axiata Arena.

Knowing that spreading himself too thin with multiple functions affected his performance against Horn in Brisbane, Pacquiao, founder of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League apart from other responsibilities, has learned to delegate.

Reacting to swirling rumors that his fight against Matthysse isn’t 100% done yet, Pacquiao turned to his training staff that also included strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune and gave an assuring nod.

“As far as I’m concerned, everything is fine,” said Pacquiao.

That includes his physical well-being and financial dealings with the Matthysse camp.
