MANILA, Philippines – After being the so-called "Panggulo sa NCAA" in the Season 91 tournament, San Sebastian College is setting its sights on making it back to the Final Four this time around.

Season 91 summary: The Stags did not make it to the Final 4 in Season 91, but played a huge role in the semis race as they stunned San Beda College and University of Perpetual Help in the second round to muddle up the playoff picture.

The Stags wound up winning three of their last five assignments, but their late charge was not enough to make up for a dismal start that saw them lose to even the cellar-dwelling Emilio Aguinaldo College in the first round.

Despite their poor performance, the Stags regularly saw strong performances from their players, with Bradwyn Guinto earning Defensive Team honors and Michael Calisaan being named the Most Improved Player.

Key losses: Bradywn Guinto, Jamil Ortuoste

Key returnees: Michael Calisaan, Ryan Costelo, Jerick Fabian

Projection: With Ortuoste and Guinto out, Costelo and Calisaan figure to be the new 1-2 punch for the Stags. Calisaan, in particular, should be their main source of offense now, after the big man surprised the NCAA last season with his polished post moves and rebounding tenacity.

It remains to be seen, however, if new Baste coach Egay Macaraya will field Calisaan in when they play their first game on June 26 against De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. Calisaan had been involved in a motorcycle accident in the offseason, causing him to lose two teeth and sustaining wounds on his hands and feet.

Calisaan, however, insists that he is ready, not just to play on Sunday, but to take charge for a San Sebastian squad that is looking to do more than just muddle up the Final 4 picture this time around.
