TNT completed a wire-to-wire 110-97 victory against struggling San Miguel Beer in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup at Ynares Center in Antipolo on Saturday.

Terrence Jones led the way for the KaTropa with 30 points, 18 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

TNT rained 3s on the Beermen, who were still without injured guards Chris Ross and Terrence Romeo.

Of the 19 triples they connected, 5 came from Roger Pogoy and 3 from Anthony Semerad. Jones also buried 3 from the perimeter, as did Don Trollano.

Not only did TNT hurt San Miguel in scoring, but it also smothered the Beermen on defense, at one point building a 24-point lead.

It was a welcome victory for the KaTropa, who figured in a highly physical and controversial encounter against Phoenix last week. The game resulted in the suspension of the Fuel Masters’ Calvin Abueva and coach Louie Alas. Jones and others were also penalized.

Von Pessumal, who had 24 points, carried the fight for the Beermen who came as close as 8 points in the final 2 minutes. San Miguel, however, lost steam as TNT went on to claim its fourth win in 5 games.

The Beermen fell to 0-2.

The scores:

TNT 110 - Jones 30, Rosario 17, Pogoy 15, Trollano 13, A. Semerad 11, Castro 9, Reyes 8, Taha 4, Heruela 3, D. Semerad 0, Golla 0, Casino 0.

San Miguel 97 - Pessumal 24, Rhodes 20, Lassiter 16, Fajardo 13, Ross 9, Santos 6, Cabagnot 5, Rosser 2, Standhardinger 2.

Quarterscores: 35-20, 57-41, 87-64, 110-97.
