Ateneo de Manila University closed out the Season 81 with 2 more team championships, after the men's football and women's volleyball sides brought UAAP gold back to Katipunan.

The football team, led by season MVP Jarvey Gayoso, defeated De La Salle University, 2-1, on May 16 in a match that needed a 30-minute extension to decide.

The Lady Eagles, meanwhile, came back from a 1-game deficit to defeat the Sisi Rondina-led University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses in a best-of-3 finals to reclaim their spot atop of the volleyball landscape.

Both achievements were celebrated during Ateneo's Back on Top Bonfire, Friday night at the Ateneo de Manila grade-school parking grounds in Quezon City.

This was Ateneo's second victory bonfire for Season 81, with the first taking place in December 2018 to celebrate its first-semester triumphs, highlighted by the Blue Eagles winning a second straight men's basketball title.

Ateneo president Fr. Jose Ramon Villarin opened festivities on Friday by thanking all the athletes who proudly represented Ateneo's colors throughout the season.
