MANILA, Philippines – De La Salle University and University of Santo Tomas (UST), both seeking to make headway in the race for the Final 4, shared points following a 1-1 draw in the UAAP Season 80 men's football tournament on Sunday at the FEU-Diliman pitch.

The Green Archers opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, thanks to Yoshi Koizumi, but the Growling Tigers equalized just 20 minutes later after Ian de Castro scored off a header.

With the result, UST still sits at third place with 19 points, while La Salle is now at solo fourth with 17 points.

Earlier, National University (NU) and University of the East (UE) boosted their respective semifinal bids after defeating separate opponents.

The Bulldogs ended a three-match losing skid by beating Far Eastern University, 1-0, with Owen Padernal providing the marginal goal in the 72nd minute.

The Red Warriors also claimed a 1-0 win over Adamson University, with Jasper Absalon scoring early in the second half.

NU and UE are now level at 16 points, but the Bulldogs are in fifth place by virtue of a superior goal difference.

The Tamaraws, with nine points, have now bowed out of the semifinals chase.

The Falcons have yet to score a point after 13 matches.
