MANILA, Philippines – Far Eastern University (FEU) overpowered Adamson University, 5-1, to book a ticket to the Final 4 of the UAAP Season 79 men's football tournament on Thursday at the Moro Lorenzo Field.

The Tamaraws, a traditional powerhouse in UAAP football, made it back to the semifinals after a one-year absence.

Alex Rayos scored twice to help the Tamaraws recover after they conceded a very early goal to become the third team to enter the semifinals.

"To be honest, we weren't looking at returning to the Final Four after this match. We were really working on, like I said from the start, on our system," said Tamaraws coach Vince Santos.

The Falcons scored the fastest goal of the season with Ejike Ugwoke making a smart move on FEU's clearance error to score after just 35 seconds.

FEU leveled three minutes later, however, with Michael Menzi finding the back of the net off a Paolo Bugas corner.

It was all FEU from there, as Val Jurao and Rayos struck in the 66th and 67th minute for a 3-1 advantage. Jurao then assisted on Rayos' second goal in the 71st minute, and Justin Calamba put the match beyond recall 12 minutes later.

With 22 points, FEU joined Ateneo de Manila University and defending champion University of the Philippines in the Final 4.

University of Santo Tomas (17 points), National University (16) and De La Salle University (15) are now fighting for the last spot in the semifinals.
