Magnolia will try not to leave anything to chance when it clashes against also-ran Blackwater in the PBA Philippine Cup on Friday.

The Hotshots (5-5) are aiming to firm up their bid to make it into the top 8 and the Elite (2-8) will be out to foil that attempt and exit the tournament on a bright note.

"We will not take them for granted," said Victolero in the PBA website.

"Hindi pwedeng biruin iyan. Hindi nila basta ibibigay ang game, kailangan namin kunin sa kanila yan.”

Magnolia is coming off a grind-out victory over NorthPort last Wednesday night, but it can’t afford to rest as their playoffs bid still remains in the balance.

"Sabi ko nga kay Paul (Lee), pagkatapos na ng laro natin against Blackwater tayo magpahinga," said Victolero.

The Hotshots need to win their last 2 games for at least a top 6 finish and avoid a match up against either the top seed or the second seed in the quarterfinals.

Tip off will be at 7 p.m. at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Meanwhile, TNT KaTropa wants to remain on course for a top 2 finish when it battles Columbian Dyip at 4:30 p.m.

At 6-3, the Texters still have a shot at finishing behind No. 1 Phoenix. To do that, they will have to win their last 2 games, including against the Dyip.

"Every game is very important for us because we have a chance na maka-top 2," TNT coach Bong Ravena said. "Kaya every opportunity na dumating we have to grab it.”

The Dyip (4-6), on the other hand, need to win the last of their games to at least stay in the hunt for a playoff berth.
