MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel veteran Arwind Santos has been slapped with a P20,000 fine by the league, a day after he made critical comments regarding the officiating in their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series against Barangay Ginebra.

The PBA announced the fine on Wednesday afternoon, saying that Santos had "issued statements detrimental to the league."

Santos also incurred an additional P5,000 fine for committing a flagrant foul in SMB's 87-95 loss to the Gin Kings on Tuesday night.

The San Miguel forward was the subject of boos by the Ginebra fans all game long, but he reserved his most pointed comments for the referees.

"What went wrong? May mga shadow eh," Santos told reporters after the game. "Parang may mga shadow 'yung mga players kanina. Parang 'yung lima, nagiging walo."

"Kaya parang nahihirapan kami bantayan, kasi lima lang 'yung kalaban, pero nagiging walo," he added. "Ewan ko, sobrang bilis kaya may shadow? Parang ganoon eh."

Santos had 13 points in the loss. San Miguel still leads the best-of-seven series, 2-1.

Game 4 is on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
