San Juan Go for Gold endured an emotionally charged game against Pampanga ADG Group to hack out a 91-83 win and charge its way to the 2020 Chooks-to-Go MPBL Lakan North Division Finals Wednesday night at San Andres Sports Complex.

The Knights used their experience and composure to thwart a surging Lanterns, who pulled to within 8 points from a 13-point deficit minutes before regulation.

But John Wilson put out the fire with a couple of free throw shots and paved the way for San Juan's escape.

" 'Yung experience namin last year, dala dala namin yung experience na 'yun dito lalo 'yung composure namin heading into the end game," said Wilson, who tallied 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.

It was a physical match-up that saw Pampanga star Michael Juico ejected with 37 seconds remaining in the opening quarter. Juico threw a closed fist at Art Aquino, which was later assessed as a disqualifying foul.

Meanwhile, Reil Cervantes was whistled for a flagrant foul after elbowing Jonard Clarito in the 3:51 mark of the third.

San Juan team owner Jinggoy Estrada was called for a technical foul -- which was relegated to head coach Randy Alcantara -- after entering the court.

Maiquez paced Pampanga in Juico's absence with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Levi Hernandez chipped in 17 points.

In the second game, Makati Super Crunch forced a do-or-die against Manila Frontrow Stars with a 75-59 win in the other semis pairing in trhe Northern Division.

The Stars entered Game 2 with a 1-0 series advantage in their best-of-3 showdown, but the Super Crunch came out with guns blazing to complete a statement win.
